Physical appearance:

For a troll, Velara could be considered very slender - even by human standards, she looks almost delicate.
The thing is, everything about Fran looks...fragile, like a person might just break her if they breathe too harshly, or at the very least knock her over with a good sneeze. It's not even that she's underweight or even unhealthy looking - she's just simply tiny, with rail-thin arms, a flat stomach, and tube-like legs. Her subtle curves don't aid her too much either, and aside from a slightly gifted breast and thin shoulders, she's built like a twelve-year-old human boy, with no hips or waist to speak of. However, if one were to actually look, they'd see her lithe arms are toned with muscle, and her skinny legs are a bit defined.

Velara's thick black hair falls to her jaw line in an uneven cut that falls over her forehead and almost into her eyes. Her hair is rather messy, and never quite seems to know what direction it wants to go. Her face, like the rest of her, is lean. Her lips are of the thinner sort, and she has a narrow nose that goes up just ever so slightly. Her gray-iris eyes peek out from behind yellow-tinted shades to protect them from the sun.

Velara's outfit consists of a short-sleeved black shirt and a yellow undershirt. On the black shirt in a symbol that looks very much like a pair of horizontal "((". She wears gray pants, and wears a shade of purple shoes.

Personality: If tomboys existed in troll culture, that is exactly the label Velara would receive. She's not dainty, she's not graceful or poised, and she is certainly not apologetic about it. She's a very strong-willed and hard-headed character, and rather boisterous at that. She likes to get her hands dirty, plant her feet, stand her ground, and get dangerous. Sometimes her behavior makes her come off as overconfident and rude, an aggressive shrew who wants to cause problems. However, she's got strong morals, and can become very loyal and friendly towards others. Her threats are often empty-handed, especially if directed towards a friend, though she does both show affection and reprimand with small punches to the arm or elbow-budges.

Velara follows as easily as she leads, and fills whatever position she feels she can best support her team with. She doesn't tend to pick a leading position though, due to the fact that she acknowledges her own selfish impulses. When it comes down to the wire, she's willing to sacrifice anything for others...but on a daily basis she usually values her needs over the needs of others. Despite her self interest (or because of), she is also hesitant to let others get too close to her. Because most trolls are violent and Alternia hammers in the warrior instinct, she's not trusting of others, and can be very critical and judgmental.

She is very kind to her friends and, although she can take her anger too far, she knows when she's crossed a line and so tries to make it right. She is a valuable friend as she always will do what is right over what is easy and she will also protect those who she calls friends from anything that crosses their path. It is one of the times her non-sensitive personality can come in handy, as she isn't afraid of anything (that she'll admit to).

Strengths:

Velara is has an internal compass, it seems - she always knows where she's at.
Velara has good upper arm strength.
She's good with machines (not computers, machines. Like, motors and engines)
Being a yellow-blood, she has a psionic abilities; she can sense others' emotions (not what they're thinking, though). She can also give off emotions, causing others to at least be susceptible to feeling calmer/angrier.

Can make some bad decisions

Fears/Insecurities: Velara is afraid of not measuring up to her own expectations, or being abandoned as consequence to her actions. She's also insecure about her ability to feel emotions from others, because it can be sad and overwhelming, and sometimes she doesn't know which emotions are hers or others'.

Likes: Velara likes messing around with engines and motors, and has built many car and motorcycle-like vehicles; she likes building things, taking things apart, and messing around with mechanics; she is also a bit of an tunneling expert, and enjoys collecting rocks she finds in caves and tunnels. Because her eyes are sensitive, she's also taken a liking to her yellow glasses. Velara also likes to talk with and hang out with others, liking company as opposed to being alone.

Dislikes: She hates tripping over spare parts, she doesn't like intensely bright lights (being a troll, and having a molecreature for a lusus); she doesn't like when people insult her, take her shades, or mock her.

Driving force: Velara is motivated by two things: her best interest, and others'.

Hobbies: Mechanics, digging, building, taking things apart, exploring the tunnels, rock collecting, and practicing with her pick-axe.

If your character were stranded on an island and could only bring two things with them, what would they be?: Her tools and that one engine she never seems to get to - with nothing else to do, it'll be a good fit.

If your character could change anything about themselves, what would they change?: She'd make herself a little less judgmental, and probably town down her stubbornness. Or, she'd get rid of her empathetic abilities altogether.

Your character opens their fridge; what do they see?: Wow...she really needs to get a fridge.

Other: Velara wears purple shoes as a dig at higher bloods. While this would normally be met with the threat of culling, or even outright murder, Velara spends a majority of her time beneath the earth and away from others. Only her close friends ever see her away from the safety of her Lusus' tunnels.
