So I've had a thunk about rolls.

Rather than having a dice roll that pre-determines ultimate placement on the victory/defeat ladder, what if we all made a roll before combat began that determined our overall focus on the battle. With extreme focus, we can bring to bear extreme power. In essence, a roll to determine our "power level" for every battle between two or more gods. That way, a lower scoring god is likely to lose, but not guaranteed. It's still ultimately up to the writer to come up with unique solutions to a problem their character faces.

Additionally, if we are going to do that, we would have to lay down some ground rules for abilities on our individual characters. For instance, as a realized Page, my ultimate ability would be an atomic blast of pure rage, which is only accessible if I at the beginning of the battle roll a ten and decide to use it. Inversely, had I rolled a one, in the story it could be said that the Broken is not invested in the battle (or is extremely fatigued beyond repair) and finds himself unable to hone his abilities to muster more than a mild field of rage which acts more as a defensive barrier than an attack. So, in essence we would have to make a list 1-10 of varying degrees of power. Or just straight up abilities we can use in a battle should we roll high enough to unlock them for that engagement.

For a class like Seer of Time, things could get really interesting since there is time travel. I would think that at maybe the lower tiers you would have forewarning of enemy attacks, allowing you to dodge way ahead of time and stuff like that. At the upper echelons though, you could actually change events in your favour by traveling in time. This of course, would be at the consent of everyone else. It would be extremely not good, if we handed over to you free reign to just rewind and replay :P

For a Witch of Light, who can pretty much straight up manipulate her own fortune, or the fortune of others, she can be pretty dodgy of attacks. She could also stack the odds of hitting another god with like a laser beam or something, by making them roll a die against hers, whover having the higher number getting to dictate whether the hit was successful or not. Etc..

Stuff like that!

What do you guys think? Is that too much dice rolling? Too LITTLE? (I can't imagine it would be, there is only one universally, only a few specific to classpects).

Also, I had the most amazing idea today, and I really wish I could redo my second post because it would have maximized the overall emotional aspect of that post! As the Broken Destroyer, I wish I had had made him chained to his Throne, and would have to request the Attendant to grant him permission to leave.

Maybe that's an idea I can save for later, when he's raving, and actually does need the chains.

I would like to inform everyone that I have work right after school today, so I won't be able to post until much later, if at all. I've got an Advanced Placement Exam tomorrow morning, so I need to sleep up.

I'm thinking of making it that Bevlea is just desperate to fill some quadrant of hers, thinking it will maybe let her finally move on sinc ehs eknows she isn't living a healthy life, but the attendant is all like no because the last time an attendant did the quadrant thing with her, she got way worse super fast when they died
